Ukraine Vows to Keep Targeting Russian Energy Infrastructure After Sea Terminal Strike

Drone strike on Krasnodar region terminal sparks fire and casualties as Kyiv signals ongoing pressure campaign.

TEMRYUK,Russia/LAHORE (Finale Monitoring) Ukraine has vowed to continue targeting Russian energy infrastructure after a drone strike hit a sea terminal in southern Russia, triggering a fire and causing at least one reported death.

Russian authorities said drone debris struck the Tamanneftegaz terminal in the Temryuk district of Russia’s Krasnodar region, igniting a fire at the facility. Emergency services were deployed to contain the blaze, while regional officials confirmed that one person was killed in the incident.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the operation targeted a key energy terminal involved in Russia’s oil and fuel logistics network. The strike is part of an increasing pattern of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian energy and industrial infrastructure.

Moscow has accused Kyiv of escalating attacks on civilian-linked facilities, while Russian regional officials reported damage to parts of the terminal and temporary disruption in the area. The full scale of damage has not yet been independently verified.

The incident comes amid intensified cross-border drone warfare, with Ukraine increasingly striking deep inside Russian territory. Energy sites, storage facilities, and transport hubs have become frequent targets as part of Kyiv’s broader military strategy to disrupt Russian supply chains.

Russian authorities have promised tighter air defenses around critical infrastructure, but repeated drone attacks continue to expose vulnerabilities in key regions.

The war, now heavily driven by drone warfare on both sides, continues to expand beyond front-line zones into strategic economic targets across Russia and Ukraine.
