LAHORE(Zuaib Butt) A major fraud controversy has emerged after a cancer patient accused PML-N Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Saqib Chadhar of allegedly defrauding him of Rs270 million.
According to the complainant, the alleged fraud involved financial dealings that resulted in substantial monetary losses. The claims have led authorities to register three separate cases against the provincial lawmaker, bringing the matter under formal investigation.
The complainant has alleged that the funds were acquired through deception and misuse of trust, prompting legal action. Law enforcement authorities are now examining financial records, statements, and other evidence related to the allegations.
The registration of multiple cases marks a significant development in the matter and could lead to further legal proceedings depending on the outcome of the investigation. Officials are expected to record statements from all relevant parties as part of the inquiry.
Saqib Chadhar has yet to be convicted of any wrongdoing, and the allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial review. The cases are expected to attract considerable public and political attention as authorities continue their probe.
The development comes amid growing scrutiny of financial misconduct allegations involving public office holders, with accountability and transparency remaining key issues in Pakistan’s political landscape.
