Punjab Police Launches 14th Internship Batch: 101 Students From GCU and Punjab University Begin Law Enforcement Training at Central Police Office Lahore

LAHORE (Zuaib Butt)Punjab Police has launched the 14th batch of its internship program, with the opening ceremony held at the Central Police Office in Lahore.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the latest batch includes 61 students from Government College University (GCU) Lahore and 40 students from the University of the Punjab. The internship aims to provide young participants with practical insight into policing and law enforcement operations.
DIG Training Munir Ahmed Zia briefed the students on the key features and objectives of the internship program during the inaugural ceremony.
The students have been divided into five groups and attached to various field formations for a six-week training period. During the internship, participants will receive exposure to field policing, crime prevention strategies, and public service delivery projects.
Punjab Police officials said the interns will also be introduced to different departments, including Information Technology, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Investigation Wing, and Punjab Traffic Police, to help them better understand modern policing practices.
At the conclusion of the program, students will present reports and presentations based on their observations and experiences gained during the internship.
The initiative is designed to strengthen engagement between academic institutions and law enforcement agencies while providing students with valuable professional experience.
