LESCO Recovers Over PKR 97.5 Million from Defaulters During May 2026

Kasur Circle leads recovery campaign as LESCO intensifies action against electricity bill defaulters across its service areas.

Lahore (Zuaib Butt) The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) recovered more than PKR 97.59 million from electricity bill defaulters during May 2026 as part of its ongoing recovery campaign aimed at improving revenue collection and reducing outstanding dues.

Acting on the directives of Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, LESCO launched extensive recovery operations across its various circles, targeting consumers with pending electricity bills and disconnected connections.

According to official figures, a total of 4,900 defaulting connections were targeted during the month, resulting in recoveries amounting to PKR 97.59 million. The campaign covered both active consumers with overdue payments and disconnected consumers whose outstanding dues remained unpaid.

In cases involving private running, deferred payments, installment plans, and accounts with arrears of four months or more, LESCO recovered PKR 61.59 million from 3,178 connections. Additionally, PKR 36 million was recovered from 1,722 consumers whose electricity connections had been disconnected for one month or longer due to non-payment.

Among all operational circles, Kasur Circle emerged as the top-performing region, recovering PKR 57.15 million from 2,507 defaulting connections. This included PKR 37.78 million recovered from active defaulters and PKR 19.37 million from disconnected consumers.

Other circles also contributed significantly to the recovery drive. Okara Circle recovered PKR 8.52 million from 709 connections, while Nankana Circle collected PKR 5.16 million from 409 defaulters. Central Circle recovered PKR 7.33 million from 391 connections, Sheikhupura Circle secured PKR 7.31 million from 359 consumers, and Southern Circle recovered PKR 5.55 million from 357 connections.

Meanwhile, Northern Circle collected PKR 4.09 million from 95 connections, while Eastern Circle recovered PKR 2.5 million from 73 defaulting consumers.

Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt stated that strict action against defaulters and recovery operations would continue across all LESCO regions. He directed field officers to ensure timely recovery of outstanding dues and achieve assigned recovery targets in order to strengthen the company’s financial position and improve operational efficiency.

LESCO officials emphasized that effective recovery of outstanding electricity bills is essential for maintaining uninterrupted power supply, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring the sustainability of the power distribution system.

The company reiterated its commitment to pursuing defaulters through legal and administrative measures while encouraging consumers to clear outstanding bills to avoid disconnection and other enforcement actions.
