Karachi Whites and Abbottabad Set for National T20 Cup Final Showdown at Gaddafi Stadium

Saud Shakeel-led Karachi Whites and Shadab Khan’s Abbottabad to battle for the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2025-26 title and a winner’s prize of PKR 5 million.

Lahore (Zuaib BUtt) Karachi Whites and Abbottabad are set to face off in the highly anticipated final of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2025-26 at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday evening, bringing together two of the tournament’s most consistent teams in a contest for domestic T20 supremacy.

The final is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM, with the toss taking place at 7:30 PM. Cricket fans will be able to watch the match free of charge as the Imran Khan and Fazal Mehmood enclosures have been opened to the public. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is expected to attend the final as chief guest.

Both teams secured their places in the final through impressive performances during the tournament. Karachi Whites topped their group with two victories and advanced after defeating Sialkot by five wickets in the first semi-final. Abbottabad finished at the top of their group with three wins and progressed to the final after the second semi-final against Lahore Whites was abandoned due to persistent rain.

The final will showcase two experienced captains leading talented squads. Pakistan Test vice-captain Saud Shakeel will captain Karachi Whites, while Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan will lead Abbottabad. Saud will be aiming to complete a remarkable domestic double after guiding Karachi Blues to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title earlier this season.

Abbottabad enter the final with a formidable batting lineup led by Kamran Ghulam and Shahzaib Khan. Kamran has accumulated 223 runs in the tournament and is within touching distance of becoming the competition’s leading run-scorer. Shahzaib Khan has also played a crucial role with 160 runs, providing consistency at the top of the order.

For Karachi Whites, Abdullah Fazal has emerged as the standout performer with 189 runs, while the experienced presence of Shan Masood, Abrar Ahmed, Danish Aziz and other Pakistan-capped players has strengthened the side throughout the campaign.

The bowling battle is expected to be equally fascinating. Abbottabad’s Shahab Khan has claimed 13 wickets and sits among the leading wicket-takers of the tournament, while captain Shadab Khan has contributed nine wickets with his leg-spin. Karachi Whites will rely heavily on pace bowler Muhammad Umar, who has picked up eight wickets and delivered crucial breakthroughs during the tournament.

A total prize pool of PKR 8.5 million has been allocated for the competition. The champions will receive PKR 5 million along with the National T20 Cup trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded PKR 2.5 million and a trophy. Additional awards will be distributed among the tournament’s top performers.

Speaking ahead of the final, Abbottabad captain Shadab Khan expressed confidence in his team’s preparations and highlighted the importance of using their experience to finish the tournament strongly. Karachi Whites captain Saud Shakeel emphasized the region’s successful domestic season and praised the emergence of young talent within his squad.

The final is expected to deliver an exciting contest between two well-balanced teams featuring a blend of international experience and emerging domestic stars. With a prestigious title, significant prize money and regional pride at stake, cricket fans can expect a fiercely competitive encounter under the lights at Gaddafi Stadium.
