DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stresses caution in contracts and financial dealings to prevent fraud
Open court directs swift action on property disputes, fraud complaints and legal assistance for citizens
Lahore (Zuaib Butt) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran has said that citizens must exercise extreme caution in contracts and financial dealings to avoid fraud, adding that proper verification of legal documents is essential in all property and monetary transactions.
He expressed these views while hearing public complaints during an open court session at his office. During the proceedings, a number of citizens raised issues related to property disputes, tenancy fraud, and financial scams.
A senior woman submitted a complaint regarding denial of her rightful share in inherited property and alleged threats from her brother. Considering her limited financial resources, the DIG assured her of legal support and directed his personal staff officer to arrange contact with a lawyer from the Legal Support Panel.
He clarified that matters related to threats fall under police jurisdiction, while property division cases are handled by the courts.
In another case from Harbanspura, a woman complained about alleged illegal occupation of her land and parking of transport vehicles on her property. The DIG ordered the Station House Officer to conduct an on-site inquiry and initiate legal action.
Multiple complaints related to rent disputes, mortgages, property fraud and financial deception were also heard during the session. The DIG directed officials to ensure immediate action on all marked applications and submit timely reports after proper verification of evidence.
Faisal Kamran stated that open courts are aimed at providing quick relief and timely justice to citizens. He reaffirmed that Lahore Police is taking all possible steps to protect citizens’ rights and resolve public issues efficiently.
