LAHORE (Finale) PTI leader Usman Dar has approached the Lahore High Court with a contempt of court petition, alleging that senior government officials failed to implement a court order directing the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The petition was filed through Barrister Abuzar Salman Niazi and names Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, Cabinet Division Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal, FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar, and Director General Immigration Muhammad Ali Randhawa as respondents.
According to the petition, the Lahore High Court had issued an order on February 25 directing authorities to remove Usman Dar’s name from the ECL. However, the petitioner claims that despite the court’s clear instructions, the order has not yet been implemented.
The petition argues that no individual’s name can be placed on the ECL without due process and proper notice. It further maintains that continued non-compliance with the court’s ruling constitutes contempt of court and undermines the authority of the judiciary.
Usman Dar has requested the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the officials concerned, alleging that they deliberately failed to act on the judicial order. The petition seeks legal action to ensure compliance with the court’s directives and uphold the rule of law.
The case is expected to add to the ongoing legal and political debates surrounding travel restrictions, judicial enforcement, and administrative accountability in Pakistan.
