ISLAMABAD (Finale)Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Saturday, during which the two leaders discussed regional developments, peace efforts, and bilateral cooperation.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as to the people of Qatar. The Qatari Prime Minister reciprocated the sentiments and extended his own good wishes to Pakistan and its leadership.
The discussion focused extensively on ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting stability and reducing tensions in the region. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Qatar for its support of Pakistan’s peace initiatives and diplomatic engagement during the recent Gulf crisis. He informed the Qatari leadership that progress had been made in facilitating dialogue among the concerned parties and that a peace agreement was expected to be ready for signing in the near future.
The Qatari Prime Minister praised Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and constructive role in advancing regional peace efforts. He acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in supporting diplomatic channels and encouraging dialogue among stakeholders. Qatar reaffirmed its support for initiatives aimed at preventing escalation and strengthening long-term regional stability.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation on issues affecting regional peace and security. They also highlighted the strong and longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Qatar, which spans political, economic, and people-to-people cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif renewed his invitation to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to undertake an official visit to Pakistan. The invitation had previously been discussed between the two sides, and both leaders expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral ties through high-level engagements.
The conversation concluded with an agreement to remain in close contact and continue working together in support of peace, stability, and cooperation across the region.
