Lahore (Zuaib Butt) The Punjab Health Department has suspended three lady doctors of the Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) following allegations of negligence and misconduct related to the submission of a medico-legal certificate (MLC) in a case before the Lahore High Court.
According to official information, the doctors allegedly failed to follow prescribed standard operating procedures and submitted a manual medico-legal report that reportedly pertained to another patient. The matter came to light during court proceedings, leading to serious concerns regarding the handling of medico-legal documentation.
The Lahore High Court reportedly expressed displeasure over the incident and sought accountability for the irregularities identified during the proceedings.
The suspended doctors include Associate Professor Dr. Mansoora Mirza, Woman Medical Officer Dr. Umrah Sabahat, and Dr. Ayesha Umar Khan. The suspensions have been issued pending further inquiry into the matter.
Health authorities stated that disciplinary action was initiated in compliance with court directions and in accordance with departmental rules. An investigation has also been launched to determine the circumstances that led to the submission of the disputed report.
Officials emphasized that strict adherence to medico-legal procedures is essential to ensure transparency, accuracy, and the integrity of the judicial process. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
