IPP to Contest Local Government Elections Across Gilgit-Baltistan: Abdul Aleem Khan

Party chief says IPP secured 86,000 votes in a short campaign and will strengthen its grassroots organization across the region.

GILGIT/LAHORE (Zuaib Butt)President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Abdul Aleem Khan, has announced that the party will actively participate in the upcoming Local Government Elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and field candidates under its banner in every Union Council.

Addressing party workers at the IPP Secretariat in Gilgit, Abdul Aleem Khan said the party has also decided to implement a comprehensive strategy aimed at strengthening and organizing its structure at the grassroots level across all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He stated that despite having only a short election campaign, the party received an overwhelming public response and secured approximately 86,000 votes in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to Abdul Aleem Khan, consultations with party leadership have resulted in a clear roadmap for the future, while the recent inclusion of four independent members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly is a positive sign for the party’s growth.

The IPP president paid tribute to party leaders, workers, and supporters for their efforts during the election campaign and emphasized that organizational activities and meetings in Gilgit, Skardu, and other districts would be intensified in the coming months.

Abdul Aleem Khan urged party workers to begin preparations for the upcoming local government elections with renewed enthusiasm, stating that their dedication has helped establish the party’s presence across Gilgit-Baltistan.

During his visit, Abdul Aleem Khan was welcomed by Gilgit-Baltistan IPP President Haji Gulbar Khan, General Secretary Fatehullah Khan, senior leader Raja Jalal Hussain, and other party officials and workers. He also hosted a reception for four newly elected independent assembly members who recently joined the party, including Anwar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Dilpazeer, and Aman Ali.

The newly joined lawmakers expressed confidence in Abdul Aleem Khan’s leadership and reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s vision for Gilgit-Baltistan.
