LAHORE(Zuaib Butt) Kot Lakhpat Police arrested an alleged robber after an exchange of fire during a snap-checking operation in the area.
According to police officials, officers signaled three suspicious motorcyclists to stop during routine checking. However, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police party and attempted to flee.
Police pursued the suspects, leading to an exchange of gunfire near Tehat Road. During the encounter, one of the alleged robbers, identified as Adnan, was reportedly injured by gunfire from his own accomplice.
The injured suspect was taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Police officials stated that his condition is out of danger.
Investigators said the suspects were allegedly involved in several criminal activities, including a motorcycle snatching incident in Kot Lakhpat and a robbery in the Hair area, where a citizen was reportedly robbed at gunpoint and injured by gunfire.
Police further stated that the suspects have a previous criminal record in cases related to theft and robbery.
During the operation, police recovered a pistol and a stolen motorcycle from the arrested suspect.
Authorities have launched raids to apprehend the remaining suspects who managed to escape from the scene.
